“ I have a favorite bakery in my hometown of Carlsbad, Ca. Well, I've been unfaithful! Sweet Life Patisserie in Eugene, Oregon , is hands down the best bakery I have ever experienced. The selection is staggering . Just to stand and stare at the colorful and varied offerings is delicious. I ordered the Upside Down Chocolate Cupcake. Amazing doesn't quite cover it. I enjoyed it so much I raced back the next day to have another one! This bakery offers a very charming decor and a pleasant staff to boot. My daughter will be attending the University there next year. I so look forward to visiting her frequently in Eugene. And you can bet I will be in Sweet Life Patisserie every time! Highest and happiest of recommendations. ”
“ I'm a fan of Sweet Life. They have an excellent assortment of pastries, desserts and delicious things always at the ready for your eating pleasure. I appreciate how many different options they have for different diets - vegan, gluten free, dairy free, egg free, etc. - and everything is clearly labeled for potential allergens or if something contains alcohol. I particularly love their cake slices and the black bottom cupcake (ask for it warmed up!). Usually though, I have a hard time deciding what to get, walking back and forth and back and forth in front of the large display cases! Each time I've gone in, the people working are also quite patient as you look at everything. Sweet Life offers indoor and outdoor seating (the patio must be new-ish?), that's very casual and clean. If you're lucky, you can snag one of the couple of parking spots right in front of the shop. ”
“ Got a couple things from here to try: Rainbow Cake Bite (extremely sweet), Peanut Butter Chocolate Parfait (really really good and my fave of the night) and the Strawberry Chocolate Silk (close second, but I wanted a stronger strawberry flavor). I enjoyed two of the three desserts that I tried, but they were all very rich in flavor so I couldn't finish any of them. If I came back, I would want to split with someone else because it's just too much to finish one by myself. I do think all the desserts were on the sweeter side even when they had dark chocolate. ”
“ I've been going to Sweet Life since I moved here three years ago and I've never had a bad dessert. They have the most delicious treats here and their seasonal offerings are to die for. I stopped in tonight and picked up the last slice of Caramel Apple Cheesecake, a slice of the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cake, a Bûche de Noel, and an Eggnog Duck. I haven't cracked into them yet but they all look so good and I'm so excited. They offer gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, and nut-free desserts, so there's something for everyone here. Some other bakeries in the area do the same, but Sweet Life does it best for sure. The people who work here are incredibly friendly and work quickly even when the line is long, which is most of the time. This is arguably the best and most popular bakery in Eugene so there's going to be a line pretty much any time and day. The good news is, the line is right in front of the pastry fridge so you can look at all of the choices and decide on what you want while you wait. The dining area is very quaint and has some tables and chairs. I've only ever gotten my treats to-go so I haven't had the pleasure of sitting at one of the tables and eating there, but I would like to someday. Parking can be a problem during peak times. They have a little parking lot for themselves but it only had a few spots and is usually full. There's also street parking, but again it's usually all taken up. I usually park across the street in a lot that belongs to a small shopping center. While there are signs that say it's just for customers of that shopping center, I've never had a problem so I don't think it's enforced very strictly. Whether you're visiting Eugene or simply looking for a good bakery, you really can't go wrong with Sweet Life. This place is simply to die for. I always take friends here. ”
“ This place never fails on patisseries! They have all sorts of desserts to pick from. The service is I would say "ok" it could be better. I would remember this place especially if it's your first time here in Eugene ”
“ Before Thanksgiving I stopped in to see what they had. I bought a Thanksgiving croissant and ham and cheese croissant. My family devoured them. It's always busy here, for a reason. Service is good, food is exquisite. A happy place to visit or meet friends. Thank you for your creative endeavors! ”
“ This is another place I am very grateful does not exist closer to me. Everything in the cases look so amazing. They have cakes, pies, cupcakes, and so many more offerings. You go through a line along the case and let the person behind the counter know what you want. Everyone I've interacted with here has been very kind and helpful. There is a selection of regularly offered deliciousness and then there are a few special items, which I think changes monthly. On this visit, I chose 2 slices of cake. One was coconut custard and the other was a special - earl grey. Both were so moist and perfect! They were delicious and not too sweet. It's hard to enjoy the flavors of desserts when they are cloyingly sweet and the cakes here do not have that issue. The store front is quaint, not too big but you don't feel claustrophobic inside. There is a lot of natural lighting. Along one of the wall they offer things that you may need for whatever it is you are celebrating.. like candles! Their bathroom key situation kind of disgusts me a little bit. You need the key to use the restroom, but the key is attached to a huge spoon thing. It sits on the counter and you take it to the bathroom and then you return it. I hope it gets sanitized regularly. ”
“ Service was super friendly, it was late at night and the line was super long but it went by fairly quick. We got the tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake and a cream cheese brownie. All of it tasted heavenly honestly. Prices are pretty fair I'd say, about $7 a slice of anything (huge slices). ”
“ Mmm... I like myself some Sweet Life. I'm not a huge cake person; in fact, I usually pass on cake when offered. However, I do greatly enjoy cheesecake and Sweet Life makes the best cherry cheesecakes you'll find. Sadly, they don't usually have them in the glass case, so I have to remember to preorder when I want to get one, but they are the absolute best when I do (they usually have strawberry cheesecake in the glass case, which isn't a bad 2nd choice). The staff here has always been very friendly on the phone and in person when I have come in. The tricky part is the parking. Where they are located in Eugene, there are only a couple spots near the front door. They are next to an alley, so people going in and out in their cars can make it perilous. Your best bet is to drive past the building to a parking lot a half block down. You can usually find spots there to get out and walk, but if it is pouring down rain, you run the risk of your dessert getting wet or you having to splash through water puddles with your prize to get back to your car. The actual building isn't that big. They offer places to sit and eat and their case has more than just cakes -- there are donuts, cookies, puddings, and more. I've always taken my food to go, but again, I'm not big on a lot of sweets that don't have ice cream, so this is pretty much the only place I go for any sort of cake. When my wife and I got married 2-1/2 years ago, you can bet we had Sweet Life cheesecakes at our wedding reception. And we took the leftovers home. Some didn't even make it home because she opened the case and we had some bites on the way home. It's that good, folks. If I heard that you had a regular cake from Sweet Life, I'd definitely try it. That is why the statement to anyone that knows me and knows I'll skip cupcakes and any cakes offered to me. But here? I know it would be amazing. ”
“ Great atmosphere, parking a little weird for me as a non local but still a great location feels very friendly. Nestled in a neighborhood the place is packed with amazing pastries/chocolates/cakes/coffee and welcoming staff. Easy to see why this is the #1 rated on Yelp for Eugene. If you want a great experience and you are In Eugene hit them up ”
